The Rapid Pilot is a result of extensive feedback from on-ground implementations to address the need for efficient, expedited rollout of identity systems.
By providing firsthand experience, it allows potential challenges to be identified early, serving as a crucial step in the preparation for a full-scale deployment.
Objective
The Rapid Pilot offers a proof-of-concept for all stages of MOSIP implementation, through the successful registration of a small, pre-determined number of residents.
Duration
Completed in around 8-12 weeks, MOSIP’s rapid pilot offers a uniquely expedited pilot process, with a registration rate of 45 individuals per day per kit.
Cost
As a not-for-profit project, MOSIP offers our platform, license, sandbox, and professional services to countries free of cost, while countries shall procure non-biometric components

Lifecycle
- Countries shall procure non-biometric components, including laptops, printers etc.
- Comprehensive online trainings on security models, technology deployment, and more.
- Finalising ID Schema and master data.
- Documentation of lessons learnt, with sharing of formal reports.
People, Process, Technology
In creating a strong foundation for this effective pilot, three aspects play a crucial role:
01
Training the right people, ensuring they have the necessary skills.
02
Streamlining processess for efficiency, thereby saving time and resources.
03
Building technology tailored to specific needs, meeting the country’s unique requirements.
The first successful implementation of MOSIP’s Rapid Pilot was in Togo, in February 2022. In collaboration with MOSIP Dissemination, a dedicated local team of eight individuals piloted their MOSIP-based ID system in a remarkably short span of 10 weeks.
