RAPID Pilot

The Rapid Pilot is a result of extensive feedback from on-ground implementations to address the need for efficient, expedited rollout of identity systems.

By providing firsthand experience, it allows potential challenges to be identified early, serving as a crucial step in the preparation for a full-scale deployment.

Objective

The Rapid Pilot offers a proof-of-concept for all stages of MOSIP implementation, through the successful registration of a small, pre-determined number of residents.

Duration

Completed in around 8-12 weeks, MOSIP’s rapid pilot offers a uniquely expedited pilot process, with a registration rate of 45 individuals per day per kit.

Cost

As a not-for-profit project, MOSIP offers our platform, license, sandbox, and professional services to countries free of cost, while countries shall procure non-biometric components

Lifecycle

+
Countries can sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MOSIP and determine the setup, pilot size, and implementation roadmap.
- MOSIP commits to providing a minimum of five Registration Kits and pre-compliant biometric components from the MOSIP Commercial ecosystem.

- Countries will be responsible for procuring non-biometric components such as laptops, printers, and related peripherals.
The MOSIP Dissemination Team will conduct a comprehensive end-to-end demonstration of the platform.
- Capacity-building programmes, including in-person seminars and extensive online training modules, will be conducted in English.

- These sessions will cover security models, technology deployment, and other critical aspects. The training process also includes finalising the ID schema and master data structures.
This step involves tailoring the user interfaces for registration and pre-registration processes to align with country-specific requirements.
The country will then establish and operationalise field registration setups to ensure a seamless rollout.
- A pre-determined group of residents will be registered as part of the pilot phase.

- Key insights and learnings will be documented, resulting in a formal report for knowledge sharing and future improvements.

People, Process, Technology

In creating a strong foundation for this effective pilot, three aspects play a crucial role:

01

Training the right people, ensuring they have the necessary skills.

02

Streamlining processess for efficiency, thereby saving time and resources.

03

Building technology tailored to specific needs, meeting the country’s unique requirements.

The first successful implementation of MOSIP’s Rapid Pilot was in Togo, in February 2022. In collaboration with MOSIP Dissemination, a dedicated local team of eight individuals piloted their MOSIP-based ID system in a remarkably short span of 10 weeks.
